Scope and Contents

This collection consists of three volumes (1877-1901) containing the constitution, bylaws, and minutes of the meetings of the Farmers Social Club of Tecumseh, Michigan. The records also contain information on planting techniques, discussion of market prices in comparison with the West, a detailed history of the club and its fair exhibitions, and obituaries of deceased members.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of the diary of Thomas Wright (1831-1841) as it was published in the Tecumseh Herald in 1955, with a brief history of Tecumseh, Michigan. Wright's diary chronicles his relocation in 1831 from Massachusetts to Michigan, where he bought a farm. Earliest entries in the diary detail his journey across Lake Erie in a crowded boat that carried 250 passengers "of every age and condition".

Scope and Contents This collection contains deeds, mortgages, tax receipts, and a diary (1878) of Aaron K. Waldron, a prominent farmer of Tecumseh, Lenawee County, Michigan. Also included is family correspondence (1863-1879) including two Civil War letters (1863) to Waldron's wife, nee Sarah Gunderman, from her brothers John, 126th New York Regiment, and Abram, 148th New York Regiment.The Civil War letters have been transcribed, scanned and placed online at ...

Scope and Contents

The diary includes the records of expenses and earnings for Osborne's farm in 1864 as well as personal entries. Also included are cash accounts involving work in the legislature and a record of bounty funds paid to Osborne for recruitment of Civil War soldiers.
